Closewood works closely with the National Defence Contractor to ensure new air conditioning systems and fresh air systems provide optimum working conditions.

Partnering with a large M&E contractor for a national defence client working within a highly sensitive and high security facility. Ensuring a thorough understanding of the client’s requirements at design stage followed by a collaborative approach with other trades to overcome time sensitive restrictions in certain areas ensured the project started on the right footing.

Remaining at the cutting edge of innovation and development by improving operating conditions within the facility was key to the client. Closewood installed Mitsubishi Electric heat recovery systems over ground, first, second and third floors consisting of 47 ducted indoor fan coil units and 12 condensing units. These systems serve office and laboratory areas. Alongside the installation of heat recovery systems Closewood installed lossnay units to provide fresh air to the first and second floor. From design development through to installation and with an ongoing pre-planned maintenance in place, Closewood can ensure these areas remain at optimum operating and efficiency levels.

The 16-week project coincided with the coronavirus pandemic resulting in a re-think on working practices and labour levels. Working within set areas, along with additional health & safety measures required the project remained on programme and handed over on time.
