MERCH ALERT!

We don't just keep offices / schools / homes / towers / apartments / fire stations cool all year round, we also keep humans looking cool too with our new tote bags.

UP THE SAINTS!

We had a fantastic time at the Saints Foundation 20 year charity dinner at St Mary’s Stadium in April. Over £122,000 was raised on the night which will help continue the incredible work they do to support the local community.

A BOULE OF A TIME

Closewood have sponsored the Southern Counties Pétanque Association League for over 4 years now. At the end of each season they hold a rewards night so this year Reg went along (to drink all the free booze).

DELIVERING CHRISTMAS JOY

Father Christmas and his Elf on the annual Closewood Air Conditioning Toy Run dropping off toys to the Salvation Army toy appeal, the number of toys seems to be getting bigger year on year. The thought of being able to put a smile on a child’s face on Christmas day morning is something special.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY AND VENTILATION

Something that has always been important to Closewood and now been brought to the fore through the Covid pandemic. Like most things there isn’t a one size fits all solution but with a free survey and understanding of your specific requirements we are able to tailor a fresh air solution to suit your space and requirements. One of our most recent projects saw us measure CO2 levels within 11 classrooms over a 2-week period at a Community College. Producing a report from our findings and offering solutions to reduce levels. Good Indoor Air Quality is so important not only from a health perspective but also enhances productivity.

HAVING A WHEELY GOOD TIME

The best thing about getting a new van? It's completely empty so there's plenty of room in the back for a mountain bike. Stuart took advantage of his new wheels and went for an off road adventure near his home in West Sussex. He said he cleaned the back out after...

OUR NAME ON THE BIG SCREEN (LITERALLY)

Closewood sponsored ladies evening at Fontwell Race Course and was given the opportunity to name three races. We thought we'd better take the company van incase the AC in the stables packed up...

REPURPOSED PIPEWORK

We love to reuse and recycle at Closewood so when we had some leftover copper pipe from a project we thought we'd test the engineer's skills and tasked them with making us a new sign for the office! What do you think?

WOODY

MEET OUR LATEST EMPLOYEE

Sometimes working from home can have its benefits. After an exhausting morning of meetings and chasing his own tail Woody’s having a quick nap before a site visit this afternoon.

Disclaimer:
Not all Closewood employees have four legs.

NEW BUSINESS CARDS

Our new business cards are made from recycled T-shirts!

Made using 100% recycled T-shirt offcuts – stuff that normally gets thrown away – makes them completely tree-free! We are really pleased with how they turned out, big thanks to MOO who printed them for us. Coming soon to a hand near you.

MOVE FOR MIND

We have all had to deal with difficult times of late largely due to the Covid pandemic, a change in routine with less face-to-face interaction. We were very mindful of the impact that this can have. So, we set the challenge and signed up for Move for Mind an event put together by the charity Mind.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Mountbatten Hampshire has provided end-of-life care since it opened in 1977 and today it runs as an independent charity, supported largely by donations. The work they do is second to none so we were pleased to have finally presented this cheque to some of the team. This donation has enabled these wonderful people to purchase some much needed equipment, which we hope will make all the difference on the wards 🌻🌻🌻

NEW ADDITION TO THE FLEET

Richard Winslade (AKA Reg) had the shock of his life when his new set of wheels arrived, when asked what vehicle he would like tongue in cheek he said a Ford Transit Connect MS-RT Limited edition but would settle for a connect. The video says it all when he saw his new MS-RT.

MERRY COVID CHRISTMAS

2020 was full of hurdles for us at Closewood so as a big thank you (and hint at a new logo coming) we gifted each member of our team a personalised Christmas hamper. From bottles of rum to a set of golf balls, it was great to be able to reward everyone for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

RETRO RALLY CROSS RACING!

A Mini competing in the Retro Rallycross Championship was sponsored by us for it's race on the iconic Lydden Hill circuit.

Competing against cars such as a Porsche 911 and a 600bhp VW Beetle, we're proud to say the Mini held its own. With a 2 litre 16 valve Vauxhall engine producing 240bhp the tiny car can hit 0-60 in just 5 seconds.

IT'S COMING HOME...

We’re proud sponsors of Hamble WFC this year and had a great time watching them in the SDFA Cup Final against Eastleigh Reserves! 🏆

PATRON OF SAINTS FOUNDATION

Having been aware of Saints Foundation for some time and the great work they do for the local community it was privilege to become a Patron of the scheme. We can't wait to be involved with the events and opportunities they provide to start making a real difference to people's lives.

NEW OFFICE STEREO

Always looking for something a little different at the Closewood office and all being music lovers in some shape or form the addition of the new sound system was a real talking point from wow I remember these from back in the day (let’s just say a certain age) to what is it (very much younger person) and then being amazed at the mechanics of it. Some of you have probably guessed our new sound system is a 1970s Rockolla Jukebox still fully functional and a great sound from the 80 7-inch vinyl single records that it holds, giving us a playlist of 160 songs. Feel free to pop in and choose a tune.

OVER 300,000 RAISED FOR CHARITY

We have been fortunate enough to have been involved in two mammoth charity fundraising cycle rides. The first cycling 485km through Myanmar (Burma) a group of 18 all connected to the air conditioning industry cycling for 6 days in high temperatures and humidity. This event saw the group raise £80,000 for Save The Children Charity, a memorable event taking in some wonderful sights and some very humbling experiences.

Our 2nd Charity fundraising cycle ride took us through Cambodia and crossing the border into Thailand. A bigger group of 32 put together by a fellow air conditioning company to raise funds for Cancer Research covering 375km over 11 days. The one thing that this ride had in common with the first was the heat and humidity along with the comradery which always helped you get through those tougher days when the hills seemed never ending. The money raised by the group on this event was a staggering £250,000 – amazing!

Keep an eye out for our 3rd Charity fundraising cycle ride. Great memories and always for a worthy cause. Who knows you may want to get involved 🚴🚴

A NEED FOR SPEED

When the opportunity came up for us to sponsor a Subaru Impreza WRX we jumped at the chance. Plus don't the Mini and the Subaru look great together?
