Plain sailing is something we always practice at Closewood, making sure that the project is set up and delivered as specified by the designs. So when the opportunity arrived to experience some traditional sailing we leapt at the chance and invited colleagues and clients for a voyage around the Solent.
The boat was Seafin, a classic English motor yacht, that would actually make a fine home and with the food and drink professionally served during the day, you can relax and enjoy the company while watching the activity on the water float by.
This trip took us down Southampton Water, out into the Solent and over to Buckler’s Hard, which is situated on the banks of the Beaulieu River, in Hampshire’s New Forest National Park. A place of great historical significance for the UK’s shipbuilding industry and if there had been enough time we would have gone to the museum and discovered more about it.
After a good look around it was lunch onboard while the yacht sailed along the coast of the Isle of Wight. The captain anchored Seafin just along from Osborne House, across from Portsmouth and the more athletic members of the party swam and used a pair of jet skis.
As you can see below it is a great day out and one that will live in people’s memories for a very long time. Our thanks to the crew for looking after us so well and if you want to see more photographs please visit our Facebook page.
